Finding and identifying items Heading link

Special Collections staff will help you locate items you wish scanned or copied, whether you are in person or online.

For every item (or set of items) requested via our website, we will need any/all identifiable information you can provide:

  • For online items: a web address (URL), a title, any identification numbers
  • For items found in print: a source volume (perhaps) with ISBN (if it has one), any page numbers, a description
  • For items from an archival collection: the collection name, box and folder numbers, an item description

It will be important to have this information handy as you complete our digitization form.

If you think the UIC Library has an item or image, but you can’t quite find it, please Ask A Librarian, or talk to an attendant in the Special Collections and University Archives reading room.
