Welcome to the Wall of Encouragement Heading link
The Wall of Encouragement is a public collage of sticky notes, for students to express themselves and encourage others, during stressful times like midterm and final exams.
Before Covid, it grew in the lobby of the Daley Library in Chicago. These days it’s online.
For more information or questions regarding the Wall of Encouragement please contact the Undergraduate Engagement Program. Thanks!

Further guidelines
- Our primary commitment is to encourage and learn from one another. We want to create a space that helps students feel seen and encouraged, while also allowing staff to better understand what students need to feel welcome on campus.
- We will strive to stay on topic. If your note is not at all relevant to the question, it will be removed. We want everyone to have a chance to benefit from this specific conversation.
- We will listen to you. We want you to express yourself the way that you feel comfortable, given it isn’t harmful towards yourself or anyone else. Cursing is allowed, as long as it’s not a slur or directed towards a person/group/event.
- We encourage you to bring your whole self to the conversation. All languages are welcome. Notes will be translated to make sure they are relevant to the wall.
- We will respect privacy. Social media handles and other promotions will be taken down. We can’t verify that these come from the person who is being promoted, so we can’t guarantee they have consented to it.
- We will be mindful of all students. Reference to death and/or suicide in notes will be taken down. We want to be mindful of the possibility of this triggering other students.
- We will work to change for the better. These guidelines might evolve as we discover a new needs that we can address. We care about what you have to say and just want to make the Wall of Encouragement work for you as much as possible.
